I'm Inoka Peshani Ganegama Bogodage. I work full-time as a caregiver at a licensed residential care facility for the elderly in Los Angeles, supporting residents with daily living, mobility, meals, and medication assistance.

Before moving to the United States in 2025, I worked in Sri Lanka as a pharmacy assistant and nursing assistant, taking vital signs, supporting doctors and pharmacists, and helping patients with personal care.

What I do

Everyday support, done carefully.

  1. Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care, following each resident's service plan.

  2. Safe transfers, positioning, and turning, using proper body mechanics.

  3. Reminders and help with self-administered medication, following facility policy.

  4. Supportive, non-threatening communication and gentle redirection.

  5. Noticing changes in physical and emotional condition, reporting to the charge nurse, and entering resident notes on the computer.

  6. Meal service and feeding support, non-sterile dressings, infection control, and fire and emergency procedures.
